Two weeks tomorrow, the January transfer window will open, offering Newcastle United a much-needed opportunity to improve a squad that’s suddenly looking thin in a few key areas.
At the back, we’re missing Dan Burn for the next six weeks, have Sven Botman managing a back issue and two out of contract defenders ruled out until the new year in Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth.
In attack, Nick Woltemade is battling fatigue and Yoane Wissa is still building match sharpness after a long battle with a knee injury, while Will Osula continues to be linked with a January switch to Frankfurt despite an ongoing ankle issue.
This brings us nicely to two areas of the pitch Newcastle look set to target in January, with The i’s Mark Douglas reporting that a versatile defender and striker are on the agenda.
Newcastle are expected to be ‘active’ next month and realise this is an appropriate time to add some mid-season ‘impetus’ to the side.
A new defender is considered the minimum requirement, with a versatile option making sense given our lack of full-back cover to protect the young and recently injured duo of Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, coupled with the unlikely event Matt Targett returns from his loan spell at Middlesbrough.
Up top, a lot may depend on Osula’s fitness and future as a switch to Frankfurt beckons, meaning the arrival of another striker could be heavily dependant on the Dane.
If he stays, is there room for another striker? I’m not so sure. But if he does depart, be it on loan or permanently, we absolutely need another option.
As for who could arrive, Newcastle have been watching Toulouse wing-back Dayann Methalie, while Club Brugge star Joel Ordonez is another young defender club scouts have been tracking.
Young Brazilian Rayan Vitor has also been linked, while Porto striker Samu Aghehowa was discussed as an option over the summer, but is surely too expensive to sign as an Osula replacement.

To buy Class players in January it’s going to take TOP MONEY, it’s no use saying, He’s too expensive you will have to go for it. Learn from the Summer mistakes of Elanga and Ramsey, or just remain a second Class Club!

Still holding out hope for Elanga and Ramsey too come good 👍

Midfield is still a huge issue as we have 4 runners and 2 ball players and it should be the other way round.
Even if you believe Ramsey will come good Willock isn’t good enough and Joelinton is a fading force.
We need to replace one with either a ball playing 6 or a creative 8

My introduction was a random banner on a UK darts recap site (I swear those ads know exactly when you’re bored). Normally I ignore them, but the timing was perfect: I’d had a streak of annoying losses elsewhere and I wanted somewhere that didn’t feel cluttered or glitchy. I’m picky about small details — filters that actually work, games that don’t freeze mid-spin, and a cashier section that doesn’t look like it was designed in 2008. While I was comparing notes with a friend on WhatsApp, I clicked https://mad-casino1.com and did a “no-pressure” browse before committing to anything. The first thing I liked was how easy it was to jump between different game types without getting lost. I set a strict budget, tried a few slots, then slowed down with a table game to cool off. It started off flat, then I hit a run that not only recovered the earlier losses but left enough profit to feel genuinely satisfied. I didn’t leave thinking I’d cracked some secret system — just that it was a solid, usable place for a controlled session.

I don’t get to see the U21 footy. Do we have anyone capable of replacing Botman long term?
Surely Joelinton moves aside for Miley as the season goes forward? Agehowa..no chance. Schick from Leverkusen is worth a look as is Olmo, he’s not getting a look in at Barca and surely he’d want a game for the World Cup? I only hope we do some business. Hell of a draw, for Carabao just as im watching. Sweet!

I haven’t a clue why A Murphy, Ashby and Ki Sung are getting called up. In them 3 we have a LB/CB, a RB and a LW/RW/CAM with no outlay them as No3 striker we have Neave
