The team sheets are in at St James’ Park, where Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United must bounce back from Sunday’s pitiful showing in tonight’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Fulham.
A chance to make the semi-finals is on the line, and a response is absolutely essential after what we were served up at Sunderland just a few days ago.
Here’s how the two sides line up for tonight’s 8.15pm kick-off.
Confirmed line ups
Newcastle XI: Ramsdale; Miley, Schär, Thiaw, Livramento; Willock, Guimaraes, Ramsey; Murphy, Wissa, Barnes.
Substitutes: Ruddy, Joelinton, Tonali, Gordon, Elanga, Woltemade, A.Murphy, Shahar, Neave.
Fulham XI: Lecomte; Tete, Andersen, Jorge Cuenca, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, Smith-Rowe, Kevin; Jiménez.
Eddie Howe has made SIX changes from Sunday, with Yoane Wissa making his first start for the club.
It looks like Miley is in at right-back, with Willock and Ramsey coming into midfield and Murphy and Barnes starting out wide.
Young right-back Leo Shahar is in the squad, with the England youth international called up to the senior set up alongside striker Sean Neave and Irishman Alex Murphy after impressing with our Under-21s once again this season.
As expected, Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and Sven Botman, EmiL Krafth and Will Osula all miss out once again, with Dan Burn absent and set for up to six weeks on the sidelines following a broken rib and punctured lung.
For Fulham, they are without Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze due to AFCON committments with Nigeria, while previously linked Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz remains out.
A big performance needed. Howay the lads!
