Newcastle get Aston Villa! – Full FA Cup draw and fourth round details

The draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup was made in the last few moments.

After overcoming Bournemouth on penalties following a 3-3 draw over 120 minutes on Saturday, Newcastle United have been handed a trip to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Villa currently sit third in the Premier League, level on points with Man City in second and only six behind top of the table Arsenal.

Fourth round FA Cup fixtures will be played on the 14th and 15th of February, falling between our trip to Spurs on Tuesday 10th and a potential Champions League first-leg playoff game on Tuesday 17th or Wednesday 18th of February.

This ensures another busy month ahead for Eddie Howe’s Mags, with February also featuring our semi-final second leg away to Man City, a trip to the Etihad in the league, along with home games against Brentford and Everton.

See the full fourth round draw below, which sees Sunderland head to Oxford United and Chelsea’s Liam Rosenior travel to former club Hull City:

  1. That draw was the most farcical I have ever experienced – cheering, whooping fans, grinning hollering players drawing the balls and those two supreme idiots Fletcher and McCoist doing their drunken dads at a wedding act as MCs. Where is the gravitas necessary for an FA Cup draw? Catering to the lowest common denominator.

I spent the whole draw shouting at them to shut the f up. At a couple of points I couldn’t hear the number drawn as the whooping and laughing was so loud.

Aye it’s turning more and more into a circus, I don’t see why they have to be in the ground where the Monday game is – just go to the FA on a link which is what they always used to do. The draw with 2 people and an adjudicator. You can then come back to the ground for reactions (and I can switch it off!)
