Newcastle United receive a late £9.2 million approach

Thauvin

Marseille have made a last-ditch effort to secure the services of Florian Thauvin, according to reports from L’Equipe.

It seemed like the tiring transfer saga involving Florian Thauvin would finally be coming to an end after reports had stated that Newcastle managed to agree a fee of around £10 million with Italian giants Lazio over the sale of the winger.

Considering the fact that Thauvin is desperate to leave Newcastle this summer, the transfer to Lazio coming into fruition seemed like a real possibility.

However, Calciomercato recently went on to claim that Thauvin would not be making a move to Lazio as his girlfriend is pressuring him to make a return back to Marseille.

Now in a fresh twist to the protracted transfer tale, L’Equipe have gone on to claim that Marseille have reignited their pursuit for Thauvin by placing a bid of around £9.2 million and despite their offer being lower than that of Lazio, the French giants are confident of getting the deal done due to the player’s desire to return to the Stade Velodrome.
