PSV Eindhoven want to take Siem de Jong on loan, reports The Chronicle.
If the deal is successful, de Jong will link up with his brother Luuk in Eindhoven.
Newcastle United have got it de Jong twice. Neither Luuk nor Siem has been a success on Tyneside to the extent that it’s hard to say who would be remembered less fondly. At least Luuk was just a loan deal…
Initially the Dutch champions want to take de Jong on loan but with the opportunity to make the deal permanent next summer.
De Jong has missed as more games than he has played since he joined in 2014. Injuries have wrecked his time at St James Park and when you miss time due to accidentally pushing a contact lens into your eye, it’s time to move on.
It may be the best solution for club and player; it’s hard to see Rafa Benitez making room in the side for former Dutch international having signed Mohamed Diame to essentially fill the same role.
