Aleksandar Mitrovic really is on fire at the minute, with the Serbian striker scoring twice in Fulham’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Tuesday night, taking his tally up to an impressive 5 goals in just 7 games.
After goals against Bristol City, Wolves and Derby had made in three in three for the 23-year-old, his brace against Sheffield United means he has now struck 5 goals in his last 4 starts for the in-form Championship side.
His first goal comes from a terrific through ball by ex-NUFC target Tom Cairney, releasing Ryan Fredericks whose fizzing cut back puts it on a plate for Mitrovic to smash home inside the six-yard box:

His second is an impressive finish. Stefan Johansen’s dinked through ball is converted expertly by the big man, with him prodding it past the keeper at the near post to put Fulham 2-0 up:

It’s great to see the Serbian scoring, however it’s a bittersweet moment for several supporters, with many questioning why on earth Benitez sanctioned his loan exit when you see how he’s thrived from a few starts.
I understand the frustration, but only to an extent. People must realise that he is now playing in a poorer division for a team that is without doubt one of the best attacking sides in the Championship.
His form and performances have been impressive, but Fulham play to his strengths and have given him an environment to play in which was never going to be replicated by a relegation battling NUFC in the top flight.
