Unbelievable Ayoze Perez stat emerges – NUFC fans will not believe this..

As confirmed by Football365, Ayoze Perez created six chances during Saturday’s defeat to Brighton at St James’ Park – more than any other Premier League player over the weekend.

This perhaps shows just how misleading stats are given the Spaniard was without doubt one of our poorest performers on Saturday – with us giving a 3/10 during our player ratings piece after the game.

He showed signs of life at Old Trafford two weeks ago, but he was back to his frustrating self on Saturday failing to get into the game despite us dominating possession and flattering to deceive nine times out of ten when he got on the ball.

The piece from Football365 was looking at the Premier League’s ‘winners and losers’ over the weekend and had this to say about Perez:

“Ayoze Perez. Six chances created, a total not bettered by any Premier League player this weekend. The poor ******.”

I think the ‘poor buggers’ in all of this are us fans who’re forced to watch him in that number 10 role week in week out despite several lacklustre performances.

He’s been good in patches over the past year – being our top scorer with 10 goals last season – however he just doesn’t convince in that playmaker role.

Rafa may have wanted another number 10 signed over the summer to compete with Perez, but it must be said that he does show blind loyalty to him at times.

Unless he starts to seriously up his game and improve his consistency, he surely can’t keep his place in the side much longer?

  1. Perez isnt big enough, isnt fast enough and isnt strong enough.

As for the the stats – you’re right, this kind of bollocks show exactly how useless stats are.

  2. This is the problem idiots like you don’t even understand the game. The numbers don’t lie but you still don’t see it. The clubs top scorer last season and provides enough chances for others but they are failing to put them away. His effort at the start of the game drew a very good save while other Blaze their shots over the bar or not even out for a corner. Rafa’s loyalty isn’t blind but the ***** the fans believe is.
