As quoted by the Sunderland Echo, Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that the Magpies are on the verge of making three or four signings within the next week.
Newcastle United have unsurprisingly been linked with a host of players over the past few weeks but the Magpies have not yet completed any signing as of yet.
Manager Rafael Benitez clearly seems to be taking a patient approach when it comes to the transfer market and the Spaniard has remained coy regarding the speculation surrounding the incomings and outgoings at the club.
To wet the appetite of the Newcastle faithful though, Benitez has now gone on to hint that the Magpies are on the verge of completing at least three deals within the next few weeks.
He said, “We have three or four things ready. It’s not easy because the market prices are high but we are fine. I think we can do it in one week. It’s really nearly there.
“When I say ready, it’s really, really nearly there, but we are waiting for someone who is working at another club and he needs to come back and sign the documents.”
Benitez’s admission will certainly have been welcomed by the Newcastle supporters and they will be eagerly awaiting to see which players the club recruit over the next seven days.
