Report: Newcastle United keen on £3 million profit from outcast

Thauvin

Newcastle United keen on selling Florian Thauvin but will only do so for a whopping £15 million, according to reports from the Chronicle.

Newcastle United splashed around £12 million to secure the services of Florian Thauvin from Marseille at the start of last season and given his exploits in France, many believed at the time that the Frenchman would be able to thrive at St. James’ Park.

However, Thauvin struggled to cope with the physicality of the English Premier League and after only 13 Premier League appearances, the winger returned back to Marseille on loan.

Following Newcastle’s relegation into the Championship, it is understandable that they are not too keen on keeping hold of Thauvin over the summer and reports had claimed that Italian giants Lazio were interested in making a swoop for the 23-year-old.

Newcastle are happy to offload Thauvin to Lazio but according to reports from the Chronicle, the Magpies are looking for profit from the sale of the winger and have slapped a whopping £15 million price on him.
