Is Forest Striker On Rafa’s Radar?

July 14, 2016July 14, 2016 Andy The Magpie

With Moussa Sissoko attracting attention from bigger clubs, it’s obvious that Rafa Benitez will need to add some goals to the squad.

Former Nottingham Forest legend, Garry Birtles, believes Britt Assombalonga would be a good addition: “He seems to have every goal about him.

“He can head the ball, he can score from close range, his pace will get him past defenders and he will score goals that are very impressive, so I think his all-round finishing attributes are very, very good.”

It underlines why Glasgow Rangers and fellow Championship rivals, Norwich City, already enquired about Assombalonga. Birtles believes the striker is capable of playing in the Premier League: “People at the time he got injured were talking about if he could go higher and play in the Premier League.

“I think he could possibly do that.”

His record of 16 goals in 33 games for Forest says he’s the type of striker to get us back into the Premier League.
