Newcastle United and Galatasaray have agreed upon the transfer of midfielder Cheick Tiote for a fee of around £1.6 million, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Cheick Tiote this summer following Newcastle United’s drop into the Championship.
Tiote was said to have made his mind up that he wanted to leave Newcastle after the club’s relegation and a host of clubs across Europe as well as from UAE had been credited with an interest in the Ivory Coast international.
Following the widespread speculation, it can be revealed that Newcastle have finally managed to sanction the sale of Tiote to Turkish side Galatasaray.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Newcastle have agreed a fee of around £1.6 million over the sale of Tiote to Galatasaray and the official announcement of the transfer is expected to be made by Monday.
