Moussa Sissoko explains why his transfer to Tottenham was good for Newcastle

Moussa Sissoko has admitted that Newcastle United received a very good amount from his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer window.

After much speculation, Moussa Sissoko joined Tottenham Hotspur from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day and while the move was widely expected to take place, many were astonished at the amount Spurs paid to sign the French international.

It was revealed that Tottenham had paid as much as £30 million in order sign to Sissoko and it does seem that the North London side were made to overpay to land their top target.

From Newcastle United’s point of view though, the high fee received can only be construed as a very good piece of business and now even Sissoko has gone on to agree with the general consensus regarding his price tag.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Sissoko explained that his transfer to Tottenham was beneficial for all parties involved and he feels that everyone was left happy with the deal.

He said, “For me it is the same. I don’t have pressure. Newcastle asked for £30m, Tottenham paid it so that is good for me, good for Newcastle and good for Tottenham. Everyone is happy so that is the most important thing.”
