As reported this morning, up to 5 deals could potentially be taking place at St James’ Park – one of which could be the surprise return of Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace. The England international fell out of favour rather quickly at Selhurst Park after Alan Pardew signed him in the summer and with Rafa a particular fan of the winger, the 25-year-old could be making his way back to the North East today.   10. The majority of the UK is probably more right than left. It’s just that the liberal left are noisier. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with all of Trumps policies as some of them are just as idiotic as the lefts policies just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

    My political views can be summed up like this; I don’t think the West is the answer to the rest of the worlds problems and we shouldn’t be made to feel bad by the social justice warriors just because I think we should look after our own citizens and country before looking at every other Tom, **** and Abdul.

  16. Stuart – I’ll leave off the politics thing as it doesn’t really suit a football blog.
    Looks like they’ll finally do a deal for Andros. Can’t understand Sam’s thinking on this one. The lad’s a hard worker and he’ll not have time to re-spend the money.
    Having said that, he’s in the squad on the way to Bournemouth.

  17. SSN now saying NUFC happy to pay the £13m release clause for Townsend – looks like it’s a permanent deal then.

    I’m pleased about that coz I would wonder what message a loan deal would send to Townsend.

  25. Doubt it will happen but I’d love to see us try & loan Ulloa from Leicester. They don’t want to sell to a PL rival & have knocked back £7.5m plus from the Scum.
    But as a result, Ulloa is super pissed off with Leicester and has fallen out with Ranieri.

    Personally I wouldn’t blame Rafa if he walked. In fact i would go as far as saying I would recommend that he does walk. It won’t change – Jabba is incapable of change. This is what Rafa has to put up with while being manager under Jabba.

  63. Not signing Townsend in and of itself isn’t the worry tonight. It is the message Rafa has been given. He is promised the world and then given nothing.

    Before people mention the summer signings – we still did an Ashley special and made a profit selling our “best” players.

    Rafa is given some backing then has it all taken back by the other hand and now, when Ashley thinks he is safe, he is back to his usual ****.

    I only hope the injuries stay away this season as we’re ****** otherwise. I hope even the most optimistic have given up on the “walking the division” idea.
