Some suspicions have been raised as to whether Aleksandar Mitrovic may have played his last game in black and white, with fans wondering if a deal may already be in place for him to leave when the January window opens following Rafa’s comments today.
Here’s why..
As we know, Mitrovic has been left out of the squad or benched for the vast majority of games this season. Against Arsenal he missed out entirely through ‘injury’, and Rafa Benitez has stated today that he will be out for ‘ten days’ due to a ‘back injury’ – meaning he will miss our entire festive fixture list.
What happens in 10 days? The January window opens. It could be a total coincidence, but since he appears to have no future under Benitez, it makes you wonder if the club are protecting him after having already agreed to his sale in the new year?
We have no idea, but it certainly makes you wonder. Hmmm..
So, Mitro is out for ten days with a convenient "back injury."
