Some more news to bring you this morning, with the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder confirming that Newcastle are expected to complete the signing of Sparta Prague goalkeeper Martin Dubravka today – with the Slovakian international set to undergo a medical on Tyneside after a deal has been agreed.
The 29-year-old has been linked continuously with NUFC over the last few weeks and it finally looks like Benitez will get his man – with youngster Freddie Woodman now expected to go out on loan to Aberdeen once Dubravka’s signing is completed.
The details of his proposed move to the club are not clear at this stage, however a loan deal has been reported by the Daily Mail for the 6ft 3′ stopper.
Whether that deal includes an option or obligation to buy remains to be seen (loan with option has been suggested below), but this will be a boost for Benitez who has clearly wanted a new goalkeeper over the past 2 windows:
Martin Dubravka loan deal should go through today. Would mean Woodman heading out on loan #nufc #transferwindow

Aberdeen have a deal agreed in principle to sign Freddie Woodman on loan. Should Martin Dúbravka pass his medical and agree terms with #nufc Woodman will spend second half of season north of the border.
