According to Bleacher Report writer Dean Jones, Aleksandar Mitrovic has now ‘made it clear’ to Newcastle that he wants to leave the club this summer – stating that Fulham are the ‘only club’ he wants to join.
This comes as no surprise really. His form with Fulham since the turn of the year has been outstanding, with the West-London side giving him the platform to impress.
With Fulham he plays in a system that suited him and under a manager that had full confidence in his abilities – something he doesn’t seem likely to get at Newcastle for as long as Rafa Benitez is at the helm.
Here’s what Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones has had to say on his future in the last few moments:

The big obstacle to overcome now is the price.
It seems clear that Rafa wants to cash in and sign a striker of his own choice with the incoming cash, however it remains to be seen as to whether Fulham will pay the price-tag he will demand.
His form at Fulham was enough to see us demand an alleged £20m, but his recent World Cup goal and dominant displays in Russia may see us push his price up another notch.
Would you be sad to see him go, or do you feel it’s a good job done for NUFC if we receive upwards of £20m?
No surprise in the Mitro news. Three years at #nufc and the last two with a manager he just won’t please. Doubt its for the lack of trying from Mitro’s side in fairness. Rafa looks at the bigger picture and Mitro doesn’t offer the package Rafa wants.

Buy Townsend and Mitro would be a different player as the ball might end up in the box for him to play his normal game
