Exclusive claims NUFC have made a ‘late move’ to sign Swansea star – Loan with option to buy?

According to an exclusive from HITC Sport, Newcastle have made a ‘late move’ for Andre Ayew – the Swansea forward who had looked all set to complete a summer move to Besiktas.

The Ghanaian looks all set to leave the Swans following their relegation to the Championship and, although it had appeared as though he was set to join the Turkish giants on loan with an option to buy, it sounds like we may have registered our interest at the 11th hour.

HITC claim that he was ‘closing in’ on a move to Besiktas, however they reckon that Benitez is lining up a ‘late move’ in a bid to bring him to St James’ Park instead.

The versatile 28-year-old may be a Championship player at present, but I believe he’d be a very handy buy for us – with him having proven over the past few years that he’s more than good enough to play at Premier League level.

He’s scored an impressive 24 goals over his three years in England so far – including 12 goals and 5 assists during his outstanding debut season with Swansea – and is a player I really think Benitez could get the best out of.

Who knows if there’s any truth in this one, but with Rafa confirming his wish to sign ‘two or three offensive players’ just yesterday, a loan deal with an option to buy for Ayew would fit the bill.

  1. Another winger ? how many does Benitez want that would make 5 and we also have 5 keepers.
Benitez wants to get his priorities in order, a striker (or 2) should be brought in as a matter of urgency

  2. Following the where’s the money gone article. I have couple of questions in my head. What happened to the 55 million from the sales of gini and sissoko? What kind of deal did the club get from the fun 88 and mrf tyres deals? Where’s the 123million pl tv money gone? DOES ASHLEY REALLY THINK WE ARE THAT STUPID?
