After getting it awfully wrong over the weekend in his inexcusable defence of Sports Direct chum Mike Ashley, Rio Ferdinand is now suggesting he only did it for a reaction from Newcastle fans…
His comments were bad enough, but if he’s now claiming it was all for ‘bites’ (the first sign that you’ve lost any credibility), then is this really what BT Sport are paying ‘pundits’ to do? Sit there and give ill-informed opinions to wind up passionate fanbases – all for a big reaction?
Ferdinand, clearly backed into a corner after his ill informed rant at BT presenter Jake Humphrey, has now tweeted this:
True Geordie isn’t always popular with Newcastle fans but he hits the nail on the head here. Ferdinand peddled blatant lies and is paying the price.
Even Man Utd fans are questioning just what on earth he is up to here:
In a way Rio has done Newcastle fans a favour this week, as he has inadvertently shed light on the hideous Ashley PR campaign in the national media, with many non NUFC fans and pundits alike now realising the plight we are in.
With Cardiff close to a new record signing, Newcastle are now the only team in the top flight to not sign a player for a fee of £15m or higher since Ashley bought the club.
No matter what Ashley, Keys, Ferdinand or Bishop say – the truth is coming out and this latest attempt by their PR camp has backfired spectacularly.
Rio Ferdinand is so full of **** it is unreal, but i suppose thats what happens when you have your TONGUE FIRMLY RAMED UP ASHLEY’S ****.
