NUFC preparing late move for Everton winger Yannick Bolasie?

According to the Mirror, Newcastle are now ‘monitoring’ Yannick Bolasie’s situation following his return to Everton.

The winger was on loan at Aston Villa over the first half of the season, however the player cut the move short in a bid to play Premier League football once again. With that in mind, a move could make sense given our total lack of attacking flare, however it’s a deal that can only happen one of two ways..

We’ve used up all of our domestic loans (Kenedy and Rondon), so we’d have to essentially cut Kenedy’s loan from Chelsea short to sign him on a temporary deal – and that may not be a bad idea based on his dreadful FA Cup display vs Watford!

The other option would obviously be to pursue a permanent deal, however I really can’t see us doing that for a number of reasons (injury issues, he’s 29 and Ashley clearly doesn’t want to spend!).

Here’s a snippet from The Mirror’s piece – claiming we are one of the Premier League clubs monitoring his situation:

Yannick Bolasie has told Everton that he wants to join a Premier League club this month, after exercising an option to return to Goodison Park.

Bolasie is interesting a number of clubs with former club Crystal Palace a possible destination – but Burnley, Cardiff and Newcastle are all monitoring a potential deal.

Here’s what Everton boss Marco Silva has had to say since Bolasie returned to Goodison, with him admitting that he must move in the coming days if he wants game time:

“For sure he knows [he won’t play]. I took that [loan] decision last summer because I realised that it would be difficult for him to get the minutes he wants.

“We have four wingers in our squad, we are happy with them. What I don’t want is for Bolasie not to play again. When he took the decision to come back we didn’t expect it, even though he has that option in his contract.”

It definitely looks like he has no future at Everton so I’m sure he’d be interested in a move up to Newcastle – I just have absolutely no confidence in us doing what’d be required to get a deal done here.
