If the Twitter reaction to his performance is anything to go by, Jacob Murphy did VERY little to impress on his West Brom debut over the weekend.
He will obviously take a bit of time to settle in, but some of the reviews we’ve been reading from those in attendance at the Hawthorns on Saturday have been FAR from complimentary.
Here’s what a few Baggies fans had to say after his second half appearance in West Brom’s 2-3 defeat at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday:
Rafa has insisted this week that he has ‘clear potential’ and is a player who will get a second chance at St James’ Park, however the alarm bells really would start ringing if he made no impact at the Hawthorns.
After all, he’s playing for a free-scoring team pushing for a promotion, so if he struggles to perform between now and May then it’s hard to see how he’ll ever break his way into Benitez’s side in the Premier League.
He’s got pace and showed real promise in his first full season with Norwich, but recent displays have suggested he has a total lack of both quality or confidence – or is it just the latter he’s missing?
An uninspiring start by all accounts, but let’s hope he can get going and show Benitez what he’s really capable of during his spell with the Baggies.
Talk about an over reaction. Had 1 training session with the squad and only got 20 minutes of the game…..against a Pulis team that played with 11 behind the ball when they didn’t have possession.

I’m a newcastle fan. Very rarely say anything bad about our players. But this bike is spineless. Cannot tackle . Lazy . Cannot best a man..Do us a favour and keep him. 12 million wasted.
