Former Mag Ki Sung-yeung has found a new club following his release from Newcastle United last month.
The 31-year-old has signed for Real Mallorca on a free transfer, and has been unveiled alongside former Chelsea star Graeme Le Saux – who is a board member at the Iberostar Stadium.
The Spanish side are currently 18th in La Liga and two points from safety, meaning he goes from one relegation battle to another and will be tasked to keep Los Bermellones up after signing on a short-term basis with the club.
He had looked set to return to South Korea and sign with former club FC Seoul, however that move broke down – opening the door for him to try his hand in Spain instead.
Ki is a tidy player who could well be a very shrewd buy the for the La Liga strugglers, but our decision to let him leave seems justified, with him taken out of Bruce’s 25-man squad and SIXTH choice in the pecking order following Nabil Bentaleb’s January arrivla.
Good luck in Spain, Ki! Barcelona awaits next month..
