Journalist reveals what ex-NUFC star has just told him after claims of police arrest

It was claimed earlier today that Nolberto Solano – who had enjoyed two stints at St James’ Park – had been nicked by police in Peru while heading to a beach party in his hometown of Lima.

However, he has since dismissed these comments in an exclusive interview with Lee Ryder, claiming he was only going for a meal at a neighbour’s house and getting his children some exercise.

Speaking to the Chronicle, here’s what the Peruvian star has had to say:

“I was 200 yards from my house. I went with my missus for our lunch with the kids,” Solano said.

“There were five people and because somebody heard some music they rang the TV programme and they turned up.

“We had to go to the police station because everybody gets treated the same here.

“They asked what we were doing and I said it was not a party. “It was a meeting of friends, not a party.”

“We are taking the precautions and we know everybody in the house doesn’t have the virus.

“Our kids were bored in the house so we took them for exercise and some lunch – 200 yards away!”

Nobby also had some words for us Toon fans in the North-East during this difficult time.

“I hope all my friends in the North-East are well, and all of the Newcastle fans.

“We all have to follow the orders now as it is the best for everybody.”
