Premier League football finally returns his week after a THREE-month break, and some interesting predictions have arrived as to how the final 92 games of the season could pan out.
After crunching the numbers and assessing the remaining fixtures, renowned data analysts FiveThirtyEight back Newcastle United to pick up 9 points in our remaining 9 games, predicting we’ll finish the season in 14th on 44 points.
It’s a modest return given we’re due to play 5 teams below us in the table (Brighton, West Ham, Watford, Aston Villa and Bournemouth) in our final 8 games after Sunday’s clash with Sheffield Utd, however it would assure us of Premier League survival – should their prediction come true!
Here’s FiveThirtyEight‘s final table in full:
So, they’re backing Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth to go down, West Ham to survive on goal difference, Tottenham and Arsenal to miss out on European qualification, Sheffield United and Wolves to qualify for the Europa League and Chelsea to pip Man Utd to UCL qualification, with Liverpool winning the title, of course.
