NUFC reporters reveal what they’ve been told on Ruben Loftus-Cheek & DeAndre Yedlin deals

It doesn’t look like Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be making a deadline day move to Newcastle United.

Steve Bruce said on Saturday that he’d only act if a “mouthwatering” loan became available – something the Chelsea midfielder could have been in the eyes of many NUFC fans – however The Times’ Martin Hardy has delivered some bad news on the potential deal.

As the North-East reporter states below, he claims to have been told this morning that his one “is not happening”:

Elsewhere, The Athletic’s Chris Waugh says it’s “increasingly unlikely” that DeAndre Yedlin finds a new club before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

He states that his sources have played down links with a loan move to Southampton and also stated that a potential move to Besiktas has gone cold after the two clubs failed to agree a fee:

Bad news on both fronts for Newcastle fans, with many believing Loftus-Cheek is exactly the sort of player we lack in midfield, not to mention that a move away for Yedlin could’ve been key in freeing up space for a late arrival.

So, Rodrigo Vilca may have been spotted on Tyneside taking pictures of the Quayside from the Hilton hotel, but it seems like he’ll be the only arrival at St James’ Park today!
