Allan Saint-Maximin has revealed his excitement at our latest plans to develop a new, city centre facility for the NUFC foundation.
The proposals were announced today by Newcastle United Foundation to construct a sports centre just a stone’s throw away from St James’ Park on the old Murray House Recreation Centre.
The multi-million pound development is a joint venture with the Newcastle building society and will serve as the headquarters for the foundation. Ambitious plans to have a football pitch on the roof have also been drafted and this, in particular, caught Saint-Maximin’s eye:
Investment into the local area is something that got fans excited at the prospect of the blocked Saudi takeover (cue the conspiracy theorists).
This is a good move and looks as though it will be a positive addition to the surrounding area of St James’ Park. Just think, it would have likely been turned into student accommodation!
It would not surprise me to see Saint-Maximin turn up for a kick-about with the locals once the facilities have been built!
