Dummett, Saivet, 3 new signings & trialist start for U-23’s vs Leeds – Watch live at 1pm here

Newcastle United have released the side set to start in our U-23’s clash with Leeds United at 1pm (watch it here) – and it’s an intriguing side to say the least!

First off, Paul Dummett features in the side as he steps up his comeback from injury, with him not playing for our first-team since January.

There’s also a surprise start for forgotten man Henri Saivet, while a trio of summer signings are all named in Chris Hogg’s starting XI.

Those three are Peruvian talent Rodrigo Vilca, former Schalke youngster Bradley Cross (who captains the side) and Niall Brookwell – the 18-year-old midfielder who arrived from Liverpool a few months ago.

See the starting 11 in full below, which also sees a ‘Trialist‘ (believed to be Hebburn star Cedwyn Scott) and Elliot Anderson start – with the latter playing just a few hours after landing a new ‘long-term’ contract at the club:

It will be interesting to see how Scott does in particular, with the trialist bagging a stunning 21 goals in 16 games for Hebburn Town so far this season.

After losing their last game in the Premier League 2 via a 3-2 defeat to Reading, let’s hope our Young Mags can get back to winning ways today – not that it’ll be easy against a Leeds side sitting 2nd in the PL2.
