Newcastle linked with loan move for Spurs outcast & cut-price deal for Leicester winger

According to reports, Newcastle United are showing interest in an ambitious loan move for Dele Alli and a cut-price deal for Leicester City winger Demarai Gray.

Starting with Alli, The Telegraph say we are ‘considering’ a move to bring the England international to St James’ Park for the remainder of 2020/21.

The No 10 is out of Jose Mourinho’s plans, leaving his future up in the air after being restricted to just ONE start all season.

Although he’d have more suitors, any move would be similar to the loan deal struck for Danny Rose this time last year, with the report claiming Alli is eager to ‘reignite his career’ after a difficult few seasons at Spurs.

Then to The Mirror, who believe Steve Bruce is eyeing a move for Leicester City’s Demarai Gray.

It’s reported that Brendan Rodgers will allow him to leave on a ‘cut-price’ fee in January, with Leicester keen to some sort of fee before his contract expires next summer.

The 24-year-old is another who’s barely featured this season, and it’s also worth noting that his isn’t the first time he’s been linked with a move to Tyneside.

Although any deal for Alli seems unlikely, these are two rumours I could believe, with Bruce seeming intent on signing Premier League proven players.

Not only that, we’ve made a habit of signing unsettled players on loan or those nearing the end of their contract at knock-down fees during the Mike Ashley era.
