If helping out the local foodbank or sending personal care packages to NHS staff wasn’t enough, Allan Saint-Maximin has just made a young fan’s day in another heart-warming act of kindness from our loveable Frenchman.
As revealed by Toon fan Gary Card today, his young son Charlie received a message “out of the blue” from the man himself on Instagram, asking how school was going and praising the teenager for the courage he has shown in his battle against brain cancer.
He then asked for the Toon fan’s address, promising to send him a signed shirt – and it looks like it’s just arrived, making Charlie a “very happy lad’ according to his dad!

An open book who has embraced the love we’ve given him, reached out to the community wherever possible and interacted with fans more in 18 months than Mike Ashley has in 14 years! Oh, and he’s quite good at football too!
Exciting on the pitch and an absolute gem off it, ASM really is one of a kind and a brilliant young man I’m proud to say plays for Newcastle United.
We’d like to wish the brave young Charlie all the best and hope he gets to see Saint-Maximin in action at St James’ Park tonight!
