In a new post on his Instagram page, Joe Willock has sent an emotional message to Newcastle United fans as he prepares to head back to North London.
Sadly, he sounds very much like a man leaving for good following an outstanding loan spell at St James’ Park, saying he’ll “never forget” his time on Tyneside and the love he was shown, ending his message with ‘goodbye’.
See what he’s had to say below, with Toon fans fearing the worst after reading his parting message to Newcastle United – a club that “will always hold a special place” in his heart:
Who knows what happens next, but this doesn’t feel like a message that suggests he could well be back at the club next season.
Instead, it makes you wonder if Arteta was deadly serious when stating he was in his plans for 2020/21 in that worrying press conference last week.
Let’s hope there’s still a long way to go with this transfer saga and we submit a bid Arsenal can’t refuse, but if this really is ‘goodbye’ then we’d like to wish him all the best for the future – and it could well be bright if his 14 games in a black and white shirt were anything to go by!
