According to new reports, Allan Saint-Maximin is receiving interest from THREE Premier League clubs following his outstanding start to the new season.
This coms from Calciomercato, who claim that Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton are all tracking the 24-year-old.
The report states that they do not expect the Frenchman to be sold in January, due to the fact such a key player is unlikely to be available mid-season, but could test Newcastle’s resolve with bids next summer.
Personally, I’d take this with a pinch of salt.
His form will see him gain admirers if he didn’t have plenty already, that’s for sure, but I’m not sure why an Italian outlet would be reporting on this when it doesn’t involve anyone in Serie A?
Saying that, it’s fair to say we’ll struggle to hold onto ASM if he continues in this form, with him involved in five goals (two goals and three assists) in our opening six league games so far this season.
Not only that, the player himself admitted in May that the club can’t settle for survival every season and need to kick on if we are to keep him at the club.
With that and his recent form in mind, it may be crucial that we have new, ambitious owners this time next year to make sure this isn’t his last season at St James’ Park.
Well if ASM reported interest is true and there is no takeover get yourself away lad and join a club with some ambition.
