Newcastle United set for surprise January trip to Saudi Arabia – Report

In his latest ‘exclusive’ for The Mail, Craig Hope has revealed that Newcastle United will jet off to Saudi Arabia later this month.

He claims that a warm-weather training camp will be put on for the club, along with scope for potential PR engagements to build our reputation in the Middle East.

The trip is set to come after our clash with Leeds United on the 22nd of January, with our exit from the FA Cup meaning we have no game between then and Everton’s visit to St James’ Park on Tuesday 8th February.

PIF governor and Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan is expected to meet with the squad during our time in Saudi Arabia, however the report states that it is currently unclear if crown prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet Eddie Howe and the players.

With this mid-season trip in mind, any late arrivals in the January transfer window look set to jet out to Saudi, not arrive at the club’s Benton training base if last minute moves are made!
