45-second clip arrives from SJP as Howe’s new-look side come close to stunning team goal – Video

A brilliant piece of footage has emerged from Saturday’s 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, showing a glimpse of the slick football we are hoping to see from Eddie Howe’s Mags this coming season.

We tired in the second half against the La Liga side – who had chances to draw the game in the end – but we played some free-flowing stuff in the first half.

This 45-second clip that’s emerged on social media captures this perfectly, showing us build patiently from the back with 16 passes and a host of first time balls before Bruno Guimaraes low strike was well stopped by Bilbao’s Ander Iruarrizaga.

After watching Steve Bruce’s Newcastle lump it long to Joelinton and hope for the best this time last year, it’s great to see our style of play develop so dramatically under Eddie Howe – who has not only improved fitness levels but enforced a fresh brand of football ahead of the new season.

Watch the brilliant clip below, featuring a cutting pass from Sven Botman which takes several Bilbao players out of the game 27 seconds into the video:
