Prior to our game against Nottingham Forest, Allan Saint-Maximin had been videoed making a great gesture as he gifted a Rolex watch to a Newcastle supporter.
Fans were lined up in the stadium ready to welcome the squad, and one lucky supporter holding a French flag dedicated to the winger was given a new watch by the man himself.
Despite some criticism last season, the Frenchman has once again shown his class and the strong bond he has built with fans over the last three years.
During the first half of our opening day clash, the 25-year-old had a solid game and showed flashes of trickery and awareness of the players around him – something he needed to improve on last year.
After the game, the talented winger took to social media to reassure fans of his loyalty and passion for the club, tweeting out ‘Black & White forever’ which, as you can imagine, went down very well with the fanbase.
This upcoming season will be crucial for the former Nice man who will undoubtedly be keen to really excel in a more talented and exciting squad after an underwhelming previous campaign.
