West Ham have launched a bid for Lyon star Lucas Paqueta, according to Sky Sports.
According to some ‘breaking news’ released on Wednesday afternoon, Sky report that the Hammers have offered £34m for the Brazilian; who has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park all summer.
They reveal that the player’s agent is in London as we speak and in advanced talks with West Ham, with the player believed to be keen on securing a move to the Premier League over the last week of the window.
A host of outlets have confirmed that we are admirers of Paqueta in recent weeks – The Athletic revealed this morning that he had been under consideration – but I get the feeling we have prioritised other positions and refused to spend a big chunk of our remaining budget on Bruno’s best friend when moves for a striker and right winger were more pressing.
Sky Sports also report that West Ham are keeping a close eye on Conor Gallagher; the Chelsea midfielder who Newcastle United have also been tracking should he become available on loan.
