Toon announce TWO more loan moves as midfielder seals exit after signing new deal – Official

Midfield duo Matty Longstaff and Lucas De Bolle have both sealed late loan moves away from St James’ Park, joining Martin Dubravka – who’s just signed for Man Utd – out of the exit door on Tyneside.

Despite reports this morning suggesting he was off to Barnsley, Matty has ended up at Colchester United, joining the League Two side until January.

The 22-year-old is out of contract next summer, so this six-month loan deal allows the club to assess his situation at the turn of the year – and potentially recoup a small fee in January, rather than lose him for nothing next summer.

Newcastle have also announced that Lucas De Bolle has joined Hamilton Academical immediately after signing a new two-year deal at the club.

The Scotland U21 international was named on the bench four times by Eddie Howe last season, but will gain experience in senior football in the Scottish second tier over the next 12 months.

The 19-year-old joined our academy in 2015 and has progressed through the ranks, captaining the under-21 side on multiple occasions before earning his first-team during a pre-season win over Athletic Bilbao in July.

Good luck to both!
