Shock sacking announced as another Premier League manager bites the dust

Thomas Tuchel has been SACKED by Chelsea, becoming the second casualty of the season after Scott Parker’s dismissal at Bournemouth last month.

After a poor start to the Premier League season and a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in their opening game of the Champions League last night, the 49-year-old has been shown the exit door at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday morning.

The Blues currently sit sixth in the Premier League after picking up 10 points from their opening six games so far. They were also Europe’s biggest spenders over the summer, signing the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and others for a combined £273m.

Tuchel was appointed in January 2021 and made an instant impact, guiding them to Champions League glory in his first season at the club, as well as top four finishes in each of the last two campaigns.

This comes a week after Chelsea’s owners refused to do late business with Newcastle United, with The Telegraph stating that they weren’t keen to help us out with loan moves for Conor Gallagher or Christian Pulisic as they were reluctant to bolster a ‘rival.’

New owners. Same old Chelsea.
