“He’s brilliant!” – Harry Redknapp names unsung hero and NUFC star in Team of the Week

In his latest piece for Betvictor, Harry Redknapp has included Joe Willock and Miguel Almiron in his Premier League Team of the Week following Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Fulham.

The “brilliant” Almiron may have stolen the show with that stunning volley and well deserved brace, but Willock was an unsung hero on the day, bagging two assists in an encouraging display from the former Arsenal man.

With Bruno’s technical on-the-ball ability and Joelinton’s physical presence in the middle of the park, the 23-year-old’s pace, determination and late arrival into the box pairs well with his midfield teammates.

Here’s what Redknapp had to say on both, who were selected in his TOTW alongside hat-trick heroes Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Leandro Trossard:

Redknapp on Joe Willock:

“Two assists for Willock on a day where I thought Newcastle were just fantastic. He’s got a great understanding with Almiron and Wilson, which is so important. Eddie Howe will be delighted to see how they’re progressing.

Redknapp on Miguel Almiron:

“Miguel Almiron. He’s brilliant. I’ve watched his first goal a few times and I’m still unsure how he managed to guide that into the net. It was a marvelous bit of technique. And his run for his second was fantastic, he made it look easy. Newcastle fans must be really excited by what they are seeing.”

Following a dazzling display in the capital, Howe will be hoping for more of the same this weekend, with it great to see the pair producing in the final third after recent criticism over their lack of end product.

Hopefully this kind of performance will spur the young Englishman on and give him the motivation to play exactly like that week in week out.
