Toon trio absent from training photos, but key man returns as Howe calls up 18-year-old talent

Newcastle United’s latest set of training snaps suggest THREE key players may have been missing from yesterday’s session.

Alexander Isak, Allan Saint-Maximin and Kieran Trippier fail to feature in any of the 36 images released on NUFC.co.uk.

We’ll find out more on those during Eddie Howe’s press conference tomorrow, however there’s good news on Joelinton, who is spotted back in training after missing last weekend’s 4-1 win at Fulham.

18-year-old attacking midfielder Jay Turner-Cooke also features, suggesting Howe has handed the Geordie talent a chance to impress with the senior squad.

Isak was always going to be touch and go for this weekend’s game after picking up a knock while away with Sweden, however we’ll have to hope Saint-Maximin remains on track to return for Saturday’s clash with Brentford, with Howe insisting he was “very close” to featuring in our big win at Craven Cottage.

Based on the photos published yesterday, the following 19 players definitely took part Wednesday’s session:

Miguel Almiron, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Ryan Fraser, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Loris Karius, Jamaal Lascelles, Jamal Lewis, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy, Nick Pope, Fabian Schar, Matt Targett, Jay Turner-Cooke, Joe Willock, Callum Wilson, Chris Wood
