New ‘leak’ arrives from Qatar – More baffling news for Newcastle United star?

According to Globo, Brazil are set to include Manchester United midfielder Fred in the starting lineup instead of the in-form Bruno Guimaraes ahead of today’s clash with Switzerland.

With Neymar sustaining an ankle injury against Serbia, a leaked line-up has revealed that Brazil boss Tite has opted to push West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta further forwards.

But the most baffling decision is that he has chosen to partner Casemiro up with Fred, despite the incredible form of Bruno Guimaraes; who has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season, let alone Brazil.

There is an argument to say that the two Man United midfielders may have better chemistry, but Fred has proven time and time again to be well below standard, while Bruno could very easily be the future of Brazil’s midfield.

This comes just a few days after the 25-year-old was an unused substitute in a 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday; a tough one to take given Tite made five changes in the final 25 minutes. The same was true for Fabian Schar last week, who’ll be hoping to feature today after missing Switzerland’s opening game.

Although this may be sad news for Bruno, who will be hoping to start for his country at a World Cup, the bright side is that he should hopefully return to us once the tournament is over in good condition and raring to go.
