Toon linked with Fabian Schar’s Swiss teammate – Player keen on Premier League move

According to German outlet Bild, Newcastle are one of a handful of English clubs who hold ‘concrete interest’ in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow who will soon be entering the final 18 months of his contract.

The club have ‘put out feelers’ to see if he’d be keen, although it’s thought the player would jump at the chance to sign at St James’ Park after previously describing the Premier League as a dream move.

Both Nottingham Forest and Arsenal are said to be looking at the midfielder, with the newly promoted side previously offering to pay €20m for his services over the summer.

Sow has caught the attention of many while playing for Switzerland in the World Cup, recording one assist in their three group games. Like Schar, however, he exited the tournament last night following a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Portugal.

The 25-year-old has played in every game for Frankfurt so far (15), scoring twice and playing a huge role in their bid to maintain their Champions League status for the second consecutive season.

Despite the interest, the report claims that the Bundesliga side are not interested in selling their star man in January, but would consider cashing in during the summer when  he would be in his final year of his contract.
