Representatives spotted at St James’ Park as Toon eye major sponsorship deal – The Telegraph

As reveleae by The Telegraph, Adidas representatives were in attendance for our quarter-final victory over Leicester amid rumours that we are looking to secure a major kit deal.

Following the Saudi-backed takeover, there was always going to be a demand for new sponsorships and kit deals, but it was never going to happen overnight.

Now, it appears as though we could secure a new deal with the sports brand, with The Telegraph confirming their interest in rekindling an old partnership that span 15 years from 1995-2010.

It’s potentially an exciting and extremely lucrative move, which may able to bring back some of the iconic kits that we still all love and wear today.

Not only is it promising for the new designs of the kits, but the increase of the commercial revenue could have a huge impact in the amount we will be allowed to spend in years to come. It would also mean the end of Castore – a £5m-per-year deal that we’ve been in talks to cut short since new owners arrived.

With new CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) Peter Silverstone having history with Adidas, let’s hope a deal can be struck.
