Newcastle transfer list TWO players as Eddie Howe plans for new signing – The Athletic

Ryan Fraser and Karl Darlow have both been told they can leave the club this month, according to The Athletic.

As revealed by David Ornstein and North-East reporter Chris Waugh, Fraser actually asked to leave at the start of pre-season, but Newcastle’s failure to sign a new winger saw him remain on Tyneside.

Now, it’s thought the club have agreed to let the 28-year-old leave, as Eddie Howe believe he’s one of the more ‘sellable assets’ we’d be able to move on in order to create space for new signings. This also explains why he’s missed out on recent matchday squads, as there’s an agreement not to risk him while all parties search for a transfer.

As for Darlow, the return of Martin Dubravka from his spell at Manchester United has left us with an inflated number of goalkeepers. Either Fraser or Darlow could leave on loan, but Newcastle would prefer permanent exits.

It’s thought the club are keen to trim the wage bill and move on a couple of fringe men to open up a space – or two – in our 25-man squad, as Howe is eager to bring in a defensive midfielder this month.
