Sky Sports: Player ‘agrees’ loan move after three January offers as Toon sanction another exit

After late interest from a couple of Championship clubs, Sky Sports have confirmed that Karl Darlow has now agreed to join Hull City on loan for the remainder of the season.

Keith Downie had reported that Swansea and Huddersfield had also made offers for the 32-year-old a few days ago, but it seems the Toon stopper has honoured his initial agreement with Hull.

This comes after Tigers chief Tan Kesler revealed that Darlow had ‘completed his paperwork’ ahead of the move, although there was a delay in finalising any deal due to our involvement in the Carabao Cup; where back-up goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is currently ineligible.

As a result, Sky Sports report that Darlow will head straight to Hull after Tuesday’s semi-final second leg against Southampton.

Here’s what the Hull chief told iNews earlier this week, confirming most of the formalities were already done:

“Karl Darlow is coming from Newcastle, we have completed his paperwork.

“In terms of when we will announce, it’s a tricky one, I want fans to be patient with us.

“The club – Newcastle – and the player wanted to participate in their cup journey and we have respected that.

“Hopefully once it’s done he will be joining us but the paperwork already has the signature on it. There’s no problems with the deal.”
