Klopp on Howe, Toon signings and Newcastle challenge ahead of Liverpool’s trip north – Video

Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Eddie Howe ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Tyneside, stating he ‘absolutely exceptional job’ to improve our style of play, develop players and build a team prior to spending massive money.

Klopp has often come under criticism for his consistent complaining about other clubs increased spending, but claimed that Howe’s success so far is ‘not because of that’.

After applauding Howe’s work with Almiron and our smart recruitment, praising the likes of Isak, Bruno and Trippier, the German acknowledged that this is a ‘massive’ clash in the race for top four with the Reds currently nine points behind us with a game in hand.

It’s somewhat refreshing to see the 55-year-old speak in a more positive manner regarding Newcastle after our last encounter which resulted in a controversial defeat – our only one of the season.

Watch what he had to say about Howe, the takeover and the game itself in the two clips below:

Pre-match compliments aside, a win against last years runners up would be an absolutely huge help to our Champions League hopes.

It would instill some confidence back into the squad, keep Liverpool at arms length and send us into next week’s final in a strong position after a few disappointing performances.
