After a disappointing weekend for Newcastle, the bookies have released their top four odds with the Toon and Liverpool now tied favourites (6/4) for the fourth spot and Spurs (7/4) marginally behind.
With Man United’s incredible form in 2023, it’s clear that many think they are now nailed on to finish in a Champions League spot and may even have a run at the title if the run continues.
But in terms of that final position, Liverpool’s odds have been boosted after a crucial 2-0 win over the Magpies, putting them just six points behind us with a game in hand.
At this point last week, the Merseyside club were 12 points adrift and well behind both Newcastle and Spurs – but with players returning and form improving, they could soon become frontrunners.
On the other hand, Tottenham, despite beating West Ham, are now third favourites to finish fourth, largely due to patchy form and long term injuries to Bentancur, Lloris and Bissouma.
Here’s the latest odds via Sky Bet, which shows Brighton and Chelsea on the slide after both suffered 1-0 home defeats on Saturday:
- Arsenal – 1/66
- Man City – 1/66
- Man Utd – 1/9
- Newcastle – 6/4
- Liverpool – 6/4
- Tottenham – 7/4
- Brighton – 10/1
- Chelsea – 25/1
- Fulham – 80/1
Although it may seem unlikely now given our recent form, there is still a lot of football to be played and with Bruno returning after the cup final, there’s plenty to be positive about.
