Newcastle winger banished to U21 training ahead of Wembley final – Report

According to The Mail, Ryan Fraser is now training with the club’s Under 21s and isn’t expected to return to the senior set up.

Craig Hope reports that the winger – and the club – see his future elsewhere, with the 28-year-old frustrated by his lack of game time in recent months.

Fraser hasn’t featured since October and missed out on a January move away from St James’ Park, but it seems he’ll train at our academy base until he’s moved on this summer.

The report doesn’t mention any fallout or row between the player and Eddie Howe, so it seems we’ve just decided to move the Scot away from the main group given he’s unsettled and pushing for a move away.

After arriving as a free agent under Steve Bruce, Fraser has really struggled to hit the heights on Tyneside. Injuries have often set him back, however he’s failed to impress following a reunion with Eddie Howe, slipping behind the likes of Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin an Jacob Murphy in the pecking order.
