It’s been a hectic week for top-four rivals Tottenham, yet things have only got worse since Antonio Conte was replaced by former assistant Cristian Stellini on Sunday night.
If their ongoing injury crisis wasn’t enough, Sky Sports News have now revealed that director of football Fabio Paratici looks set for a 30-month ban from football.
He was initially penalised for his unlawful activity in Italy, causing Juventus to be deducted 15 points, but FIFA have now granted a request for him to be banned globally, meaning he will not be able to conduct any transfer market activity; whether that be talking to agents or negotiating deals.
Essentially, the Dan Ashworth of Spurs now has his hands tied and could yet be banned from aiding the club’s search for a new permanent manager; expected to arrive this summer following likes to Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino.
As for the injuries, they suffered yet another blow last night, as Ivan Perisic went down off the ball in Croatia’s 2-0 win over Turkey with a suspected calf injury.
This comes just 24 hours after the club confirmed Emerson Royal suffered a knee injury in training with Brazil, leaving him in need of surgery and ruled out of next month’s trip to Newcastle.
As things stand, they only have ONE fit full-back and a long list of players set to miss our crucial clash at St James’ Park on April 23rd. Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma have already been ruled out for the season, while Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon are both struggling with muscle injuries.
