Alan Shearer names FIVE Mags and £70m target in Premier League Team of the Week

Alan Shearer has named FIVE Newcastle United stars in his Premier League Team of the Week following Sunday’s 6-1 win over Spurs.

Eddie Howe is his manager of the week, while Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy, Joelinton and Alexander Isak all feature in his star XI alongside summer target Declan Rice; who scored in West Ham’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth yesterday.

It’s hard to argue with any of Shearer’s picks. Murphy’s brace was superb, as he not only opened the scoring but fired a thunderbolt past Lloris to give us a 3-0 lead within 10 minutes.

Joelinton’s run, touch and finish was outstanding to double our lead, with the all-action Brazilian putting in another dominant display. Isak’s link-up play and ice-cool finishing saw him reach double figures for the season and Willock produced one of the assists of the season, curling an outside of the foot pass into the Swede in what was another superb all-round display from the former Arsenal midfielder. Howe also deserved huge praise, as he got a reaction from that 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa and reaped the rewards of sticking by the likes of Murphy and Burn.

Dare I say, Fabian Schar could’ve also made it into the side? Two assists and another superb display from the Swiss international, who barely put a foot wrong all afternoon.

Here’s what big Al had to say on all four, followed by his team of the week in full:

Joe Willock “His assist for the first of Isak’s two goals is one of the best passes you will see this season.”

Jacob Murphy “Two goals in the first 10 minutes! What a performance!”

Alexander Isak – “Ran the show and was the best player on the pitch. Another brilliant brace.”

Joelinton – “Spurs couldn’t handle him. Capped an immense display with a deserved and well-taken goal.”

Eddie Howe“After the loss to Villa, he demanded a reaction and, boy, did he get one!”
