Newcastle considering ‘formal approach’ to sign Amine Adli – The Guardian

French talent Amine Adli has become the latest name linked with a possible summer move to St James’ Park today.

According to The Guardian, Newcastle United are interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen winger and could make a ‘formal approach’ for the 23-year-old talent.

We’re expected to face competition from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and AC Milan, with the same piece reiterating that Leverkusen teammate Moussa Diaby is also on our radar.

Adli arrived from Toulouse two years ago in a deal worth £13m and is believed to be valued around the £30m mark following a breakthrough season under new boss Xabi Alonso.

Interestingly, The Guardian claim that the Bundesliga side are ‘more open’ to allowing Diaby to leave, feeling they could demand around £60m for the Frenchman following 25 goal involvements and interest from Newcastle, PSG and Arsenal.

As for Adli, he’s managed six goals and six assists as a bit-part player this season and came on as a substitute in their 1-0 defeat to Roma in last night’s Europa League semi-final first leg.
