Longstaff starts and TWO shocks from Leicester – Team news from St James’ Park

The team sheets are in at St James’ Park, where Newcastle United taken on Leicester knowing a win or draw would seal our place in next season’s Champions League!

Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with:

(4-3-3): Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton – Almiron, Wilson, Isak.

SUBS: Dubravka, Dummett, Gordon, Sait-Maximin, Lewis, Targett, Murphy, Anderson, Miley.

Sean Longstaff starts for the first time since our 4-1 win over Everton, having overcome a foot injury and come through training unscathed over the weekend.

This is the only change, seeing the local lad replace an injured Joe Willock. This means Elliot Anderson remains on the bench, which also features the return of Jacob Murphy and 17-year-old talent Lewis Miley.

Joelinton and Kieran Trippier have both shaken off injuries from last week’s 4-1 win over Brighton. For Leicester, however, Toon targets James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are BOTH on the bench, with Smith opting for five at the back.

Leicester XI: Iversen, Castagne, Souttar, Evans, Faes, Thomas, Soumare, Tielemans, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Vardy.
